Family, Food, Fun (and the ER)

I had the joy of going home a few weeks ago to spend some time with my family. It was a quick trip up and back, so I flew directly into Redding. This is the first time I have made that flight and although the plane was on the small side, it was nice to not have the long drive from Sacramento. I enjoyed some alone time with Mom the night I flew in and she treated me to a late night run for the border! For those of you that don't know I LOVE TACO BELL and it tastes even better (and brings back fond memories) when eaten late at night.

Saturday we lounged around then headed to Chico to see Tyler and Family. There was a small mishap along the way which resulted in my parents dropping me off at Tyler's and heading to ER to have Mom's arm checked out. Fortunetly, they returned back to the apartment a short time later (not your typical ER visit) but sadly Mom's arm was broken meaning at least 6 weeks in a cast! To try and lighten the the mood Tayden and I decided it was time to decorate the Large cupcakes I baked that morning. He was a great helper, though I did see his fingers slip into his mouth quite often (who can resist chocolate frosting?!) While we decorated the cakes, Mom (AKA Grandma) and Alise enjoyed some frosting too.
Aunt Cheryl and Tyden (see the finger headed to his mouth)

Trying to get a picture of Tayden with a cupcake (see the finger in his mouth)
This picture of Alise was taken before the Chocolate cupcakes, but I still had to post it because she is just TOO cute!

Sunday we enjoyed another morning lounging around the house and drinking coffee on the deck. Later that morning we headed down to Travis and Karen's house to check out their garden. I am very impressed to say the least. I look forward to eating some of their goods during our visit up in July.
This picture doesn't even do their garden justice, but you can at least see how much work they have put into in and how cool it is!

After a taco lunch with Travis and Karen, my time was up and back to the airport I had to go. Like I said it was a quick trip, but it was so nice to see my family and be out of LA for a weekend.

I can't wait to go back home in July for more time with my family, a Good ol' Fashioned 4th of July BBQ, homemade ice cream and lots of fireworks!! (Have I mention 4th of July is my favorite holiday? Well, it is!)

Wow, Tyden and Alise are getting so big. Auntiehood is the best. I can't wait to see pics of your babies on here some day. You're amazing, Cheryl, and missed by my heart :)
