Fruit Tarts

Christopher loves fruit tarts. Whenever we see them in bakeries he always drools over them, but with the price usually around $5 a tart (the small size), we never buy them. I often think about learning to make them, but the fresh fruit for tarts is also usually more then we can afford. But this week it all changed!! Ralph's has blueberries and raspberries on sale 2 packs for $3. The packs aren't large, but enough to make a few little tarts. So today when Chris left to study I started my tart mission. I still need a lot of practice to perfect the recipes, but all in all the tarts tasted DELICIOUS and Christopher was ecstatic when we came home to fresh, homemade, just for him....tarts!

I found the recipe on This blog and followed the directions. The only down side to it was the crust was more like sugar cookie dough, so it was hard to roll out without it sticking. Next time I may add more flour when mixing. I used my own fruit and instead of apricot jam and water I just heated up some blackberry jam and brushed it over top. It worked just fine and tasted yummy.

Until my next food mission....

The kitchen is closed!

I'm impressed. I love fruit tarts as well, so maybe I will follow in your foot steps some time.

WOW. Those could possible have been my most FAVORITE dessert yet! Bebe, you really outdid yourself. Thank you. If a way to a man's heart is through his stomach, you just added and express lane.
