Fall is here! At least that is what my calendar tells me. I certainly can't tell by the weather down here in LA. We almost had a fall day on Saturday, but it just didn't quite stay!! I normally kick off fall helping my Mom make applesauce. I love this tradition and LOVE the finished product. Being so far away from home and not being able to help Mom, makes me miss fall even more. I try to decorate our place in reds, browns, yellows and oranges, but it just isn't the same. Thanks to Mom and the Pier 1 scented oil she bought me, at least the apartment smells like home. I decided rather than mope, I'd do something else to kick off fall. Last night I made my first ever Apple Pie!! I wasn't sure how my crust would turn out (I have this fear that I can't do it) but it tasted delicious! I even had some cookie cutters to make the cute shapes, so that I can be just like Martha!!! Check it out.

I sprinkled the cut outs with cinnamon and sugar for more flavor. I also made extras so ever piece of pie can be served with a cute decoration!
This year for my birthday my sister gave me this cake/pie keeper from Tupperware. It works perfectly to keep the pie fresh! Thanks Marcie.
